Numbers, or it did not happen.

Every story below carries the measurements, the duration and the starting point. One of them is about a client who did not get what she came for in the time she expected. It is on the page for the same reason the others are: because you cannot judge the good outcomes without seeing an ordinary one.

These are individual outcomes, shared with written permission and with names shortened. They are not typical, not guaranteed, and not a prediction of what will happen for you. Nutrition therapy sits alongside your medical care — it does not replace it, and no plan here is a substitute for your physician's advice. Some clients see very little change; one of them is on this page.

Cycles returned at month four, after six years of two or three a year

    Fasting insulin

    HOMA-IR
    5.92.4
    Cycles in 6 months

    Weight
    78.471.9kg

    Starting point

Diagnosed with PCOS at 24. Two cycles in the preceding year. Fasting insulin 24.8 µIU/mL, HOMA-IR 5.9. Had done keto twice, lost 8 kg each time, regained it each time. Convinced carbohydrate was the enemy and terrified of rice.

    What changed

We put rice back. Reordered the plate so that vegetables and protein preceded it, raised protein from roughly 42 g to 95 g a day using curd, egg, dal and paneer, and added three resistance sessions a week with her trainer. Nothing was banned. Weight moved slowly and deliberately.

The part I did not expect was being told to eat more, not less. I had spent six years apologising for every meal. Month four my period turned up without a tablet and I actually sat down on the floor.

HbA1c 8.9 to 6.1, and off one of two medications

    HbA1c
    8.96.1%
    Fasting glucose
    168104mg/dL
    Medications
    21
    Waist
    10894cm

    Starting point

Type 2 diabetes diagnosed four years earlier. HbA1c 8.9%. On metformin 1000 mg twice daily plus glimepiride. Ate dinner at 10.30pm after work, mostly rice and one curry. Travelled for work eleven days a month.

    What changed

Dinner moved to 8pm on the nights it could, and where it could not we changed what went on the plate rather than pretending the schedule would change. Millet and dal at lunch, a protein floor at breakfast instead of idli alone, and a genuinely workable airport-and-hotel protocol. Glimepiride was withdrawn by his physician at month five, not by me.

I had been told to eat less rice by four different people. She was the first to ask what time I get home. That question changed everything, because the answer was 10pm and no amount of willpower was going to fix that.

Twenty-two suspected trigger foods, narrowed to three

    Trigger foods

    Symptom days / month
    194
    Ferritin
    1138ng/mL
    Foods eaten regularly
    ~30~90

    Starting point

IBS-D for five years. Had independently eliminated wheat, dairy, onion, garlic, tomato, coffee and most fruit. Eating roughly nine distinct meals on rotation and refusing dinner invitations. Ferritin 11 ng/mL.

    What changed

A structured low-FODMAP elimination for six weeks — properly supervised, with an end date written on day one — followed by systematic reintroduction. Twenty-two feared foods came back. Three did not: excess fructose loads, large onion portions and cold coffee on an empty stomach.

I got wheat back. I got garlic back. I went to a wedding and ate at it. The elimination bit was hard but knowing the exact date it ended was the only reason I could do it.

Six months, 3.1 kg, and an honest conversation about why

A slower one, published on purpose

    HbA1c
    6.26.1%
    Weight at 6 months
    86.082.9kg
    Weight at 14 months
    86.079.0kg
    Adherence, months 1–3
    ~40~75%

    Starting point

Pre-diabetes, HbA1c 6.2%. Wanted to lose 15 kg. Two young children, a night-shift job in a hospital, and a genuinely chaotic sleep schedule that no amount of meal planning was going to fix.

    What changed

Less than either of us wanted. Adherence was patchy for the first three months and I said so at the month-three review rather than pretending otherwise. We shrank the plan to two things — a protein-anchored first meal, and no eating between 2am and 6am on shift — and stopped adding anything else. HbA1c came down a tenth. Weight moved 3.1 kg in six months.

I want to be honest because the other stories on this page are not my story. I did not get a transformation. What I got was somebody who did not make me feel like a failure for it, and a plan small enough that I am still doing it eight months later. The weight is now down 7 kg. It just took much longer than the website made me hope.

A half-marathon runner who was eating like someone half her size

    Half-marathon PB

    Starting point

Training 55 km a week, eating roughly 1,650 kcal. Amenorrhoeic for eleven months. Two stress fractures in two years. Ferritin 14 ng/mL, vitamin D 12 ng/mL. Had been praised for her discipline by three different coaches.

    What changed

Intake rose to about 2,500 kcal with carbohydrate deliberately placed around sessions. Iron and vitamin D corrected under supervision. No performance was lost — her half time improved by four minutes. Menses returned at month five. This was relative energy deficiency in sport, and it was being treated as dedication.

Every person in my running group told me I was doing it right. She was the first to say the word "underfuelled" and then show me the bone density report as the reason it mattered.

What these numbers are not

Read this before you compare yourself to anyone above.

These are five people out of roughly fourteen hundred. They are not a sample, they are the ones who agreed to be published, which means they skew toward people for whom things went well. That is true of every testimonials page you have ever read, including the ones that do not say so.

Nutrition therapy also does not happen in isolation. Every person above was under the care of a physician, and in two cases a change in medication contributed to the change in numbers. I have said which, because leaving it out would take credit for something that was not mine.

What I can tell you honestly is the shape of things. Most people who complete a six-month program see a measurable change in the marker we set out to change. A minority see very little. A few stop early. If you want a figure attached to your own case, that is a conversation after I have seen your reports, not before.
